We would like to invite you to visit us at the wool shop, at 18 High Street, Olney. For those of you who don’t know Olney, it’s a lovely and traditional small town between Northampton and Milton Keynes, (enter postcode MK46 4BB on the SatNav.)
As well as friendly staff you will find a gorgeous selection of your favourite yarn and tools - Noro, Debbie Bliss, Louisa Harding, Katia, Adriafil, King Cole, James C Brett, Nude Ewe, Knit-Pro and Namaste needles, etc... and other very interesting yarns, including vibrant hand-spun yarn, naturally-dyed yarn and one-off art yarn created by independent textile artists. A true ever-changing Aladdin’s cave for you, creative people.
We have the famous Ondas, Triana and Rizos yarns (Ondas is very similar to Rico’s Can Can), and you can download the free patterns by clicking here: ondas scarf pattern.pdf, triana scarf pattern.pdf, rizos scarf pattern.pdf.
Come and browse our books and patterns, feel the yarn, ignite your imagination. See our original, exclusive patterns, available free when you purchase the yarn from the wool shop.
We’ll be happy to help you with your chosen project should you need a bit of assistance - and to get you out of the ‘water’ if you’re a beginner - after all, we’ve all been there.
We also have tops and fleece for spinners and felt enthusiasts. This summer I’ve ordered some gorgeous Cormo raw fleece from the USA and it should arrive here at around July/August time - I’ve been lucky enough to bag some of the beautiful grey and dark brown fleece as well as some of the super buttery white ones.
We are planning a workshop and club schedule for the autumn, including crochet workshops. You will find details on the events page, or download them from here: The wool shop workshops 2011.pdf
In the meantime this summer season, please come in to knit and natter with whoever is here whenever you want.
We will be open to the public as follows:
Week days 09:30 - 18:00
Sat 10:00 - 16:00
and now also open on Sundays from 11:00 to 15:00
We look forward to meeting you :-)
And just to say that this website, like the shop, is under continuous change and will develop as things happen so please, watch this space for news and new arrivals!
Just to say that on the first Sunday of the month Olney Market Square holds a farmer’s market full of delicious local produce, meats, cheeses... a great treat for all good food lovers. Plus there are many other independent shops you and your loved ones will enjoy, including a classic Aston Martin shop with plenty of preloved four-wheel beauties, old fashioned sweet shop, traditional toy shop (also stocking modern toys), and some deli and coffee shops with plenty of home-made yummies.
